The Los Angeles Times relaunched its food section in the spring of 2019 with the goal of highlighting the region’s rich food culture. In summer 2019, the Food team and creative technologist interns teamed up to create a new map-based “best of” list format for burgers and ice cream.
For the best burgers list, we created augmented reality objects and 360-degree views for several of the burgers. I acted as the web developer for the project, creating a production-ready website to showcase the list, the map, the AR objects, and the burgers for all devices on the web in 10 days. I later used this site as the basis for a best ice creams list.
