Senior Product Manager

The San Francisco Standard

  • As The Standard's first product manager, I coordinate and execute all of our product initiatives.

  • In the first year, this included: migrating our site to WordPress VIP, transitioning to a new email service provider, designing and launching a rebrand, and redesigning every page on our site to fit the new brand. Internally, I introduced project management tools and processes to our design and engineering team.

Product Manager

  • I worked end-to-end on storytelling tools, from workflows and UI in GrapheneCMS (the Times’ custom CMS) to reader-facing experiences on Apple News.

  • This role enabled me to think holistically about outcomes for our audiences and how changes within the newsroom can achieve them, from simple tweaks of CMS fields to whole new ways of presenting information online.

  • Some projects included: tools for newsroom planning and workflow improvements, new story formats for curated lists of content, and improved navigation between related stories.

The Times’ 2019 “101 Best Restaurants” list won an Award of Excellence as part of a portfolio in the category Story Page Design – Arts, Entertainment, Food, Travel & Lifestyle from the 2019 SND Best of Digital Design competition. I co-designed the site with Genesia Ting.
